Code of Ethics and Rules of Conduct
For Respirnet Inspector Associates
The participants of RespirNet are a group of professional associates with diverse backgrounds. Respirnet Associates agree to act as a source for the collection and dissemination of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) information.
Respirnet Associates agree to provide other participating associates with advice and information about emerging methodologies and technology in their particular areas of IAQ expertise. With a goal of Biohazard awareness, education, and investigation, Respirnet Associates are dedicated to the advancement of ethical IAQ professional practices through networking, training and certification.
Respircare has adopted, and commends to its associates, the following code of ethics.
Objective
The objective of this code is to provide standards of ethical conduct for Respirnet Associates as they engage in their individual professions, seeking to ensure the protection of the American public and their property from IAQ concerns.
Rules of Conduct
Respircare Analytical Associates shall agree to:
Follow accepted Indoor Air Quality industry standards and guidelines.
Refer business to other Respirnet Associates when possible.
Strive to assist other Respirnet Associates with solid IAQ and ethical business advice.
Maintain current training from Respircare Analytical Instructors and provide candid feedback for all training courses.
Use only an approved and accredited laboratory for analytical services.
Ensure all laboratory data is triple reviewed by:
The laboratory
A network board certified CIE, CIEC, or CIAQM
The Respirnet Associate
Perform Indoor Air Quality services only within the areas of their competence, exercising caution not to misrepresent their credentials, training or experience.
Deal responsibly and ethically in advising parties regarding potential damage to property and/or risk to health.
Maintain confidentiality concerning both personal and business information gathered in the performance of their professions, except in the case of overriding legal and/or health concerns.
Avoid instances where potential conflict of interest or compromise of professional judgment may occur.
Act with integrity to uphold the standards of their profession and Respircare Analytical and avoid any conduct that could adversely reflect on Respirnet Associates.
Remain active in the IAQ industry.
